PhD Program 

General access conditions

• Students who have already completed the Masters program in Logic and Philosophy of Science are admitted automatically.
• Students who do not come from the Masters in Logic and Philosophy of Science program must meet the following formal and academic requirements. They must submit a research project that should be accepted by the Coordination Commission. Apart from that, the commission will evaluate:
        1 .- Suitability of previous degree.
        2 .- Academic record.
        3 .- Statement of interest.      
        4 .- Statement of interest.
        5 .- Research experience.
        6 .- Research Project.
        7 .- Research grants and fellowships received
        8 .- Documented mastery of English and / or other foreign language.
        9 .- Work experience.
        10 .- Academic stays abroad.
        10 .- If the Commission deems it necessary, an interview with the candidate will be established.
• International students will be admitted in accordance with the procedure laid down in current legislation. The universities may accept graduates from foreign education systems without the need to officially validate their degrees, but only after verifying that those certify a level of education equivalent to their Spanish correspondent.
• However, admission presupposes that the candidate has obtained a minimum of 300 ECTS credits between the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• The admission of students in the PhD will be carried out in accordance with the procedure and selection criteria established by each university.

Administrative procedures for PhD studies in the USAL

Students enrolled in the Masters in Logic and Philosophy of Science program will be directly admitted to the PhD program. For this USAL requires pre-registration, registration, and submission of the thesis project. All information about application and registration to the PhD (ours is governed by RD1393/07) can be found here: http://www.usal.es/webusal/node/3632. In particular, you must pre-register, be accepted and then registered (the payment is annually renewed). The thesis project is presented in a timely manner.

1. Complete and mail the following application form (http://posgrado.usal.es/formularios/prein_doctorado1393.pdf) together with the application form for the Master degree title (if not requested Salamanca students may also register using their academic transcript)

3. The tuition fees for 2010-2011:
         Opening a file: 27,08 €
         ID card: 10,01 €
         Insurance (only those under 28 on 24-09-2009): 1,12 €
         Academic supervision: € 107.81
